Can we get text and string from .xml file from direct website link?

Hey guys,
Latest update is pretty valuable. New component named Resource Utilities is added and i want to know weather we can get the text file from an online .xml link instead of an xml file in assets folder ?

If no then is there any other way to decode and parse text from online .xml file ?

Current only from asset folder.
But I will upgrade the component in the next days
