EU GDPR Compliance for ads

I have a couple of questions.

Question 1:

If you put ads in your app a consent message will be shown to EU users to opt in or out of personalised ads.

My understanding is that the app will be able to automatically detect where a person is located so only EU users will see the consent message.

Is the above correct?

Question 2:

We need to be able to give EU users a choice to change their minds about consent.

The docs don’t suggest a way to do this other than by “ clearing your app’s data from settings to trigger a re-request.”

This will be off-putting to users. Is there an easier way to do this, such as creating a button that will bring the consent form up so that users can opt in or out?

Hi

We currently do not provide an option to re-trigger the consent form. However, this is something on our roadmap and should make its way to the next release if everything goes well.

And the consent form is shown only to users in the EU/EEA/UK unless you have test mode enabled, in which case it is shown every time you open the app.

Also, consent messages are not shown unless you set them up in your Funding Choices dashboard, as explained in the doc you linked.

Hope this answers your question!
