Can you specify about which pages are you talking.
I know about pages which can’t be viewed in IE but never heard about a page which can be only viewed in IE 
The site actually works, but when you want to log in, for example, or get information from the site, it only works on Internet Explorer
and when you need to make it work in mozila firefox for example … you need ti install (ie view ) extention

It will not help you that it is a site for university students and you need a username and password from this university to log in to your account
