in its first time this option came out if it worked … but now it does not work … does anyone know why?

Works for me just fine.
Highlight colour is the colour that is set if the user is going to highlight text
I just tested three separate colours and it is fine. So either you have a blocks problem, or are expecting it to do something it does not do
