Surface View: what does save preview as file mean on surface view?

what does save preview as file mean on surface view? I’m trying to make an in app snap chat like feature where you can take an picture in app uning the surface view but I don’t know how to get it to work

You can use the image file to make a live preview as example in the image component.
You can store the image on firebase as example and on a other device you can see the live preview.

Hello Mika,

I just joined the the amazing community. I am using Surface View for my app on my tablet. It’s working fine for the back camera but not for front camera. This issue seems to be only the Android tablets. If you can please take a look at it.
