Access to an external (removable) SD card on Android 11 with targetSdk = 30

If there is anyone out there who has an Android 11 device with a removable (micro) SD card, please test this APK and let me / us know if it works there too.

This APK was built on the AI2 test server (targetSdk = 30).
Try it especially on Android 11 devices with a → removable (micro) SD card.
Please test it and tell us if it works there too.

The app lists and plays the MP3s on your device (if there is a removable SD card, it lists MP3s from there).

Thanks!

I wonder if anything will change in a month when Andorid 12 arrives on devices.

This applies to Motorola, Pixel, Samsung and Realme devices. Maybe Xiaomi.

Phone Model: POCO X3 NFC
Android Version: 11 RKQ1.200826.002
With external SD Card and tons of MP3s in it.

  1. Installed Play From SD Card app - successful
  2. The app listed all MP3s in SD CARD - successful
  3. The list toggles between file path or Song Title - successful
  4. The app can play anything on the lists - successful

But the volume is a little lower than a usual player. Overall, it works on my phone.

That are great news.

It would be nice if someone could please test this also on an Android 10 device with a removable SD card.

Unfortunately, I have neither an Android 10 nor Android 11 test device with an external (removable) SD card.

I didn’t add a feature to change the vol (for this test app). The volume is set to the default value = 50 (I didn’t change this):

To be sure, from the removable (micro) SD card?
(Note: The built-in storage is also called sdcard.)
