this can be easily done without extension just by using the web component and the corresponding API
you might want to focus on developing an extension, which would not be possible with existing blocks

Why should that be easier with an extension? The only difference would be a couple of blocks. Taifun is right. Make something that really makes a difference. We are going to have to be more serious about which extensions we allow on the community. We see to much unnecessary extensions.
