I receive this error whenever I try to switch the camera from back to front using a surface view component.

First of all, this is not a bug! You need to show your blocks so that we can understand it better.
Bytheway, are you stopping surface view’s preview before switching the cameras?
using this block 
If not then please try switching again but stop preview first.
