When you use default the menu popup is on action bar
But when we use your way it’s not
Difference -
Default

He means when using the default action bar the popup appears on it whereas using your the poppup comes little down

@Vedang One suggestion :
You have taken labels for side menu and options menu icon and set it clickable.
Instead of labels take buttons and set button font typeface to Material icons as we set for labels.
Why buttons?
When using labels as clickable, the area of click of labels is less as compared to buttons.
You can feel the clicking difference.

If you are going to replicate the action bar then it should be 56px in portrait and 48px in landscape.

Please add to the guide how you made the popup menu appear to the on the label
After many problems and limitations of the native Title Bar, I finally made my own!
You cannot escape this.
