As I mentioned in a previous topic, we’re working on having an AI Agent in Kodular Creator to help developing apps. I will share some more details later on, but some features it currently supports are:
Understand the full project state, and can guide and navigate all screens and designer/blocks editors.
Help debugging Companion runtime errors, as well as the state of the app after interacting in the Companion.
Modify the aspect of the app by adding, modifying or deleting components, and add, modify and delete blocks to code the app for you.
If you’re interested in helping test it out, please fill out the following form:
I’ll be sharing some recordings and demos on how this AI Agent can interact while developing apps. There are many other features not listed above, but I think it’s better to view it rather than say it.
Also, I want to clarify something: Kodular Creator is not moving away from block-based coding. We’re still contributing back with features to MIT App Inventor, and our users know how to code using blocks.
The reason to add this AI Agent is to first allow people to develop apps faster and better using AI (as you will have some “virtual colleague” to ask questions about app development), and second to let people use these newer technology in their development experience. Tools like Claude Code or Codex have definitely speed up development, so we want people who are not familiar with actual coding to learn how to use those kind of AI Agents.
And finally, no, your projects are not being used to train any kind of AI model or anything like that. This feature will be fully opt-in, and no changes on how the data is processed will be made.
