Probably you forgot about CustomWebView which can open/receive external links.
Since extension is open source so you can have a look at repo and make one from yourself.

No.Since it is open source so you (or anyone) can learn to add your app in default apps list.
I have not tried but if someone uses mp3 instead of http and https then he/she will be able to add his/her app in default music players list.

No you can’t. Deep Linking is not possible currently.
