Also while selecting the note(s) a small trash 
sign comes it may confuse the user
i dont think it will confuse it is for deleting the note

It does not delete the note
then i think thats a bug as per me it is for deleting
did you read it properly i said it is for deleting but because of some bug it did not deleted the note

The app in open sourced. So instead of bug hunting you can edit the aia to your needs

Hell NO
in which app you (both) have seen (commonly) just longpress to delete the thing.
that delete icon is to show what notes are selected to delete,
after selecting the notes you need to click on the delete button at the bottom right corner, then the selected notes (with the bin icon) will get deleted.
Think of your gallery app,
first you long press on a image then select other images, then delete /share (or whatever) it.
i thaught this was a feature.
