Some Lego NXT/EV3 Components don't support changing Designer properties

As I was trying to build a custom Controller App for each of the two Lego Devices, I noticed that some properties could only be changed in the designer and not at run time.
E.g. In the driving/motor Components I can’t change the Motorletters or Wheel Diameter.

Is this intentionally and if not, what’s causing the problem(s)?
Although I’m not experienced in Java, I may be able to help.

Also, if wanted or needed, I can offer testing with both devices.

Maybe you should ask the question app inventor.

I’ve downloaded their sources and try to change it accordingly.
If that’s not going to work, I’ll ask them.
