The Tao of Programming

Some time ago I posted this in the AppyBuilder community, so some of you have seen it already, but if you didn’t, take a time to read it.

It is a famous and very funny text simulating an ancient asian scripture or so that was very popular among programmers back in the 80’s - 90’s.

Even though it’s funny, there’s a little truth in each one. In fact, I think there’s some things we can learn from it to be better programmers.

My favorite one is

Thus spake the master programmer:
“A well-written program is its own heaven; a poorly-written program is its own hell.”

Which one would be your favorite one?

And MAY THE TAO BE WITH YOU ALWAYS!

Thus spake the master programmer:
"After three days without programming, life becomes meaningless.’’

I have life out of programming, but this states what I really feel, and I’d also change it to “After one day…”

I can go one day, may be two if I’m having fun with something else, but not three!
