I have been trying to make a side menu for my app and i cannot find the SideMenu thing, i can see the “SideMenu Layout” but the tutorials im following use the SideMenu

If you want to use inbuilt side menu then use the one which showed in image side menu layout. If you want to set a custom layout as side menu then in screen1 blocks there is a block Side Menu which sets the layout as side menu and make sure to keep the layout visible.
