Hosting your own TinyWebDB

I can see your database.txt file, that shouldn’t be possible. Did you set all your permissions etc.

I made a website at https://www.000webhost.com

Just uploaded the files, changed permission of databasetext, used my sample app and it works.

This is really a good option to store not so secret text.

Pay attention how you put your url in the (obfuscated) textblock. If you forget to put http:// in front of the url the companion app will crash.

Hi, I tried with an “Altervista” domain and it works perfectly. I also used the obfuscated text to set the “ServiceURL”.
Very well, it’s very useful.
Thanks so much @Diego

You don’t need a aia file. Why are people always asking for aia files. Look at the blocks in this topic. That is all you need.

You don’t have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hi Diego, did you notice that awardspace has an affiliate program and a free reseller host program?
I think you could use your affiliate link here or become a reseller (or give this option for someone). It is totally free and basically has the exactly same resources that awardspace has, with zero work. The commission could go to Kodular, sponsor paid extensions etc.

I am sure a lot of people using this free version will upgrade to premium plans in the future, so it might become an extra money for Kodular. Actually I think many people will love the idea to use a host knowing that part of this money will come back to Kodular.

And now I may be going a little too far now but you could even integrate it with Kodular Tinyweb component, so the component could lead the users to the reseller host by default (with a link to sign up, or whatever) and then everyone could easily has his own host without big problems while the app has not many users.

It is just a thought that I had but I hope you like it.

Edit: I don’t know why but I answered Peter post instead of answer the first post.
@Diego check this out, please!
