Hi All, am here to introduce you to my new extension which is the Shadow Layout Extension

Introduction

An extension to apply and control elevation colours to an arrangement. Change properties like shadow angle, shadow radius, shadow distance and shadow colour!

A small yet very useful extension !

Documentation

  • Initialize Shadow Layout

Initialize Block

Inputs :

arrangement: Parent arrangement
child: Target arrangement of the shadow layout

  • Shadow Color

Set Shadow Color

Sets the shadow color of the target arrangement

Return Shaow Color

Returns the shadow color

  • Shadow Angle

Set SHadow Angle

Sets the shadow angle of the target arrangement

Return Shadow Angle

Returns the shadow angle

  • Shadow Radius

Set Show Radius

Sets the shadow radius of the target arrangement

Return Show Radius

Returns the shadow radius

  • Shadow Distance

Set Shadow Distance

Sets the shadow radius of the target arrangement

Return Shadow Distance

Returns the shadow radius

Hi, if you set ClipToOutline to false then i dont think that you need Parent layout also do not need any spaces

We had this in mind but its better to keep it as it is, it brakes some functionally.

fine, can make a transparent button with a shadow :slightly_smiling_face:
After rotate screen, effect invisible :thinking:

Is there a reason why the child and parent arrangement is needed?

If you need it internally, you can just do child.getView().getParent().

Actually thats how the extension works, i spoke to Xoma and he said that this isnt much possible according to the current codes, though we appreciate your feedback

You can try to do it by adjusting the shadow direction.
