I’ve been hearing some buzz about Kodular possibly shutting down, and I wanted to reach out to the community. Is it true that we’re witnessing the end of an era for this platform?
What are your thoughts on this? How will it impact our projects and the no-code movement?
I don’t think the Kodular project will come to an end (contrary to the very pessimistic forecasts I’ve heard). But it’s clear that the project needs renewal. I think the project, as titanic as it is, needs people working full-time on it, and I’m sure that will make the difference.
It’s really interesting to see how the house of cards is collapsing.
I once wondered where it probably failed and how it came to this. Most co-founders and employees were last seen on Kodular in the summer of 2022. If you look at the release notes, you can put a lot of things together. In July 2022, Kodular Premium was launched. It’s unfortunate that users were promised a lot with the updates here.
I understand every single hobby developer who can’t find the time or interest, but it surprises me even more why it still doesn’t work, especially when you can make money through your hobby. Most programmers here start as hobbyists. We all know how it is.
A nice job offer, of course, doesn’t compare to what you could build up here, but in my opinion, it wouldn’t be too difficult to hire more capable programmers as workers and expand the functioning system.
Well, everyone is going their own way now, and technology keeps getting more amazing and intelligent. Soon, we’ll be programming apps with AI alone.
It even looks like this might be one of my…
last posts. I wish things looked different, and I would love to continue using Kodular in the future and helping many users in the community. However, my interest fades with such an inactive online presence.
I had hoped and believed this for a long time as well—ever since it was officially announced. But so far, I haven’t heard or seen anything more about it. If anyone has more information, please let me know. To be honest, I’ve lost hope, as current projects won’t be supported by App Inventor. Kodular was ahead of its time in terms of design and functionality, but now it’s nothing more than space junk.
