Hi everyone,
This is a follow-up topic on my previous one:
In a previous update, we mentioned that more news would be coming your way. Well, the time has come…
When we first launched Makeroid Kodular, the company behind it was established in The Netherlands. In 2019, we relocated operations to the United States under the name “Junnovate, LLC”.
Now, we’ve decided to move back to Europe, specifically to Ireland, under the new entity “Junnovate Limited”. Over the next few months, Kodular will gradually transition from the US company to this new Irish one.
As you might imagine, this isn’t a simple change and will take some time to fully implement. From your side, no action is required.
However, services involving payments, such as Kodular Premium and Google Ad Manager, will be updated accordingly. The most notable change is a shift in billing currency from USD to EUR. We’ll send a detailed communication before any of these updates go into effect.
For now, this is just a heads-up; no migration has happened yet.
You can find some FAQs below to clarify any questions you might have.
General FAQ
How does this impact me?
It won’t affect you at all. This is simply a change in the legal entity’s country, and everything about the service will continue to work just as it always has.
Kodular Creator will continue operating without any disruption.
Is my data going to be shared with 3rd parties?
No. Both “Junnovate, LLC” and “Junnovate Limited” are owned by the same individuals; this is simply a change in jurisdiction.
Your data has always been hosted in the EU and will remain there, with no changes to how it’s handled or who has access to it.
If I want to exercise my rights, to whom should I contact?
For now, you can continue to reach out through the same contact points listed in our current policies; nothing has changed yet. Once the transition is complete, our legal documents and policies will be updated to reflect the new procedures.
This doesn’t affect your usual support options: [email protected] and support.kodular.io will remain the same.
Why are you making this change?
We’re making this change to better align with our current situation and the realities of where we’re based. As our operations and team will be primarily rooted in Ireland, it makes sense to bring the service closer to this country. This shift allows us to simplify things behind the scenes while continuing to deliver the same experience you know and trust at Kodular.
Kodular Premium FAQ
This FAQ is still provisional. A detailed topic will be opened once transition date is confirmed.
What will happen to my subscription?
We’re still finalizing the transition plan, but it’s very likely that all subscriptions will need to be repurchased under the new setup. Don’t worry, your remaining paid time won’t be lost.
Current subscriptions will be marked to “end at the conclusion of their billing period”. Once that happens, they’ll automatically terminate. At the same time, you’ll be able to subscribe again under the new system. If there’s any overlap between the old and new subscriptions, the new one will include Trial Days, along with a few extra days for free, to ensure you’re not double-charged.
Will my payment methods change?
Yes and no. Since you’ll need to resubscribe, you might have to re-enter your payment details. However, the same payment methods will still be supported.
As a little sneak peek, we’re also expanding our payment options: PayPal will now be available, along with new choices like Amazon Pay and Revolut Pay.
Will prices change?
We don’t have a final answer just yet. Since launching Kodular Premium in July 2022, we haven’t made any price increases. We’re currently evaluating the sustainability of our services under the current pricing structure.
What’s certain is that the billing currency will switch from USD to EUR.
Will you offer some discounts as part of this change?
Yes. Users who have had an active Kodular Premium subscription over the last few months will automatically avail for a discount price when they sign up again.
We will also offer a temporary reduced fee for non-subscribed users.
Google Ad Manager FAQ
This FAQ is still provisional. A detailed topic will be opened once migration date is confirmed.
What will happen to my balance and payments?
Your balance will be converted from USD to EUR, so once moved, all withdrawals will be processed in EUR instead of USD.
This change will also be reflected in your earnings reports and payment summaries.
In what currency will Google issue the payments?
Google will now issue payments to us in EUR. As a result, you will also receive payments in EUR as the base currency. However, just like before, you’ll still have the option to transfer funds into any other currency of your choice.
Is there any action required?
There will be an action required to reconfigure your payouts profile. You’ll need to provide your payment details again and complete an identity verification once your balance reaches the payout threshold.
Will commissions increase?
No, commissions will not increase. In fact, we are currently evaluating the possibility of lowering them.
Let us know if you have any concerns or questions regarding this change. As mentioned above, detailed topics covering both “Kodular Premium” and “Google Ad Manager” will be created.
Thank you,
Diego
