An update from Kodular Team

Hi all,

I know it has been a while since we posted an update in the Community. We all have been busy with our endeavours, and that took most of the time that we wish we could have been invested here. You may also have noticed that some team members have left.

I am now writing this post to give some updates on behalf of the whole team, and to update regarding upcoming changes.
The overall summary is that we will be refocusing our efforts to be more efficient. We will be simplifying much of the existing infrastructure, improving our services and also reducing the overall required maintenance, to align it with our actual capacity. From your perspective, as a developer, nothing will change.

Improved Support

We have improved our support SOPs regarding issues with billing or payments. The [email protected] email address is now back again working, and connected to a ticketing system.
We have also changed Kodular Support and converted it to an actual Knowledge Base and support site. You will be able to view the tickets there you sent to [email protected] too.

Keep in mind that this inbox is not for app development support. Kodular Community will still be the place for this.

New Status Site

We have also revamped the Kodular Status website to improve monitoring and alternating in case of outages. Now, all the sites are monitored from different regions to give a better feel from all around the world.

Deprecation of Discord Server

Unfortunately, as part of becoming more efficient, we realized we cannot sustain the Kodular Discord server. It is not possible for us to keep an eye in the Community and at Discord at the same time. Considering that some users were also individually reaching out to some other users in Discord, we have taken the decision to close the Kodular Discord server.

As of now, there are no new signups allowed. We will be effectively closing the server on 1st April 2025. This means that existing members will not be kicked out, but all channels will be archived.

Upcoming Updates

We are preparing another update for Kodular Creator with mainly bug fixes. You can expect its release within 2 weeks.

We do also have some more news to share, but we will be sharing them in a different topic within the next 2 weeks as well.

As always, feel free to ask any questions or share your concerns below on this topic.

Best regards,
Diego

Great … A good news in Early Morning

That’s a great initiative from kodular team :tada::tada:
I have one question regarding support portal. After raising a ticket with kodular team. Within how much time the user can expect a response depends on ticket priority. Can kodular team provide any SLA for ticket priority ?

What about onesignal component…? And much more components are just for showcase they are not actually functioning. Put some efforts on components also

Great news! I truly hope support for this wonderful platform continues without interruption. However, I’ve noticed a pattern where you come and go. Before introducing the free and paid plans, you were absent from the community, and after implementing them, you disappeared again. My only hope is that support remains consistent—not just for updates, but for ongoing engagement with the community.

Can you create an offline version of Kodular creator?
It takes a long time to compile projects, especially if they are large, it is very frustrating.
There is no alternative platform to which projects from Kodular can be transferred in their entirety at the moment so that would be a good solution.

I hope you will make an effort to get onesignal working again

I would ask you to try the next version of Kodular Creator and observe any performance improvements.

About OneSignal component - we have difficulties in upgrading to their newer version. Do you specifically want OneSignal as a service for your push notifications or will any other solution (Firebase Push Notifications) would work?

I think one signal notification service is most affordable and easier than firebase. Many users including me are probably use and give priority to one signal.

Still, Kodular is on a downward trend, and I need to ensure future updates for the users of my apps

We do try to check them on a regular basis, usually within 48 hours. Worst case would be within 1 week.

Great to hear that you are back in business! Does this mean that Kodular Creator is not dying and not gonna merge with App Inventor 2, we don’t have any update on this topic. How’s it gonna be?

Answering @Point and @The_K_Studio questions: no, Kodular is not going to die. There are nearly 2M users with millions of projects in there, hence, we will not just “shut it down”. We are going to keep running it to support them.

If, in the eventual situation that we have to shut it down, we will always provide a way to build apps, like an offline version or something similar.
But we are far from that as of today.
