Dear Koders,
We are thrilled to announce one of the biggest updates to Kodular Creator in recent years!
Let’s dive right into what’s new and how this update will make your app development experience faster, smoother, and more powerful.
Misc Changes
We are changing our versioning for Kodular Creator, moving from an “incremental” semantic versioning to a year.month format. Kodular Creator 1.5D.4 Fenix was the last one following our old pattern, and Kodular Creator 2025.8 is the next major version following it.
- Kodular Creator will also receive minor patches which will increment the patch variant: first 2025.8.1, then 2025.8.2, and so.
- Kodular Companion will keep its version name as 2025.8, ensuring its compatibility with any minor patch. You may receive however updates without updating the version name for minor patches, along with Kodular Creator.
We will only post major changes in Kodular Community. To keep it concise, we will instead post the detailed changelog in our Documentation.
For Kodular Creator 2025.8, you can already find it here: 2025.8 - Kodular Docs.
Unlimited Size Apps
You can now build unlimited size apps in Kodular Creator. Yes, you heard that right: we have removed a technical limitation which prevented us from downloading AIAs, APKs and AABs larger than 32MB. If you are on Kodular Premium, you can now add as many assets as you want, and we will be able to give you the output app.
Along with this change, we are increasing the maximum assets size for Free users, up to 10MB (before it was 5MB). This means you can now have double amount of assets as before without having to upgrade for Kodular Premium.
Note it’s not not yet possible to import AIAs larger than 32MB. We are working to remove this limitation too. For now, you can export AIAs of any size as backups.
Target SDK 35
It’s finally here! As promised in Target SDK 35 in Kodular Creator, you can now export your apps with Target SDK 35, and keep compliant with Google Play Store requirements.
No action is needed from your side: just build and export your app again, and it will automatically use Android API 35.
Faster Loading Times
We have also made some improvements to how Kodular Creator first loads. You may now experience a faster first-time loading, while fetching all the needed resources.
Kodular Monetize
As announced earlier in Introducing Kodular Monetize (Public Preview), we are launching in Public Preview Kodular Monetize. This is a new way to monetize your apps, without having to sign up for Kodular Premium.
This release activates the Public Preview, and the first users have already received the invites to start testing the system.
Among other changes, these are some noticeable ones:
- Added back the Google Admob Banner, Interstitial and Rewarded components.
- Implemented new Google AdMob App Open and Rewarded Interstitial components.
- Implemented for both Kodular Monetize and legacy Google Ad Manager integration new Google Ad Manager App Open and Rewarded Interstitial components.
- Google Ad Manager components now support for the legacy integration and Kodular Monetize.
- You will also find some new blocks for both Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager components.
New Components
On top of the new monetization components, we are also adding 3 new components to Kodular Creator under the Google category:
- Play Integrity: use Google Play Integrity API in your apps to increase their security when communicating with any other server.
- In-App Update: moved out of Experimental, we have updated some of the blocks and the libraries to the latest version, to be able to mark this component as stable.
- In-App Review: similar to the In-App Update component, this one has been moved out of Experimental and is now using the latest libraries.
Extensions Improvements
We are adding support for AAR libraries in extensions. This is a changed first implemented for MIT App Inventor 2, which is now also available in Kodular Creator.
Additionally, extension developers can now use component names when debugging extensions. This can allow developers to improve their logging, and help to identify individual components causing any bugs.
Bugs Fixed & Other Changes
And as noted, we have also fixed a bunch of user reported bugs. You can find the complete list of bugs fixed along with other changes in the full changelog:
We hope you’re as excited as we are about this release. With Target SDK 35, unlimited-size apps, and new monetization and Play Store tools, Kodular Creator 2025.8 brings your app development to the next level.
Going forward, we’ll be more proactive in monitoring the Community for bug reports and issues. In the past, we focused mainly on major problems, but with this release, we are committing to resolving issues more quickly and continuously improving Kodular Creator. We will be updating the following list with the corresponding statuses:
